• They are nonstick, but they are not removeable. Cleanup with a damp cloth is easy.

• The grids are non-stick. I have not had a single waffle stick yet and I use no oil or butter. The grids cannot be removed, but they require very minimal cleaning. I just wait for the maker to cool down, then use a pastry brush to wipe out any crumbs. Its also very easy to clean the outside if any batter is pushed out during the cooking process (this happens when you put too much batter in the maker to begin with, as I often do :) ).

• They are non stick, but I always use Pam on it anyway just be sure and for easy clean up. No, the plates are not removable, but I've had no problems wiping them down.
