Q: Questiondo you have to use alexa device with blink system or can you just connect to your phone?
Asked by heime.
- A:Answer While the Blink System does integrate with the Amazon Alexa enabled devices you do not need one of these devices to operate the Blink cameras. The Blink App is currently compatible with any iOS mobile devices running version 12.5 or higher, Android mobile devices running version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher and Fire OS mobile devices, running software version 5.1 or higher.

Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Blink - 2 Indoor (3rd Gen) Wireless 1080p Security System with up to two-year battery life - White
- A:Answer As long as you have wifi and a compatible mobile device we ship everything needed to get set-up and started with our Blink Kits/Systems. You are able to adjust your camera settings, view video clips, receive notifications, and access live view through the App on your compatible mobile device from anywhere as long as you have a WIFI or cellular connection. This is important to note for your cellular data plan, watching a five second motion clip without WIFI connection will use about 750KB of your data plan.

Q: QuestionCan I use the indoor camera outside under a roof?
Asked by Cubal.
- A:Answer The Blink Indoor camera is not meant for outdoors however customers have successfully used a Blink indoor cameras in protected outdoor areas (such as under an awning, on a covered porch, etc.) as long as it remains dry and within its operating temperature range of 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C). The Blink Indoor camera and sync module are not waterproof and any exposure to moisture and/or temperatures outside the operating range will void our one-year limited warranty.
Answered by Blink
Q: Questiondoes the module come with this?
Asked by educator.
- A:Answer The Blink sync module would ship with all Blink kits/systems. So this Blink 1-camera Outdoor kit would ship with one Blink Outdoor camera and the sync module 2.

Q: QuestionIs the chief difference between an indoor and outdoor camera weather proofing? Is there any disadvantage or lesser quality if an outdoor system is used indoors? Can you please clarify the functional differences between and indoor and outdoor camera? thanx
Asked by MarkJr.
- A:Answer Other than the color, the difference in the Blink Indoor and the Blink Outdoor cameras would be the operating temperatures and that the Blink Outdoor camera is weather-resistant and can be used outside. The Blink Indoor camera is not weather-proof and any exposure to moisture and/or temperatures outside the operating range will void its warranty.

Q: Questionwhat is the max distance from camera to receiver?
Asked by verolot3.
- A:Answer Assuming a fairly standard home (single building, no unusually dense construction materials), the Sync Module should be able to communicate with Blink camera units up to 100ft away in any direction. As far as how far away the system can be from the wireless router that would depend on the strength of your internet/WIFI, we recommend at least three bars of signal strength for optimal performance.

Q: QuestionDo you need a subscription
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Blink - 2 Indoor (3rd Gen) Wireless 1080p Security System with up to two-year battery life - White
- A:Answer No you don't "need" a subscription. You can plug a thumb drive into your hub to review your camera activity. If you want to watch a video of any camera while you are away from home; you can't without a subscription. The subscription stores all video clips in a cloud and can be accessed any time and anywhere. Without a subscription you will have to use a thumbdrive to store the videos and then remove the thumbdrive from the hub after you return home and plug it into a computer to review any video activity. My free cloud trial expired 2 days ago. The cameras still detect movement but leave a blank video window on my app. Cloud was free until about a year ago. Blink went from free to $3 per camera each month or $10 unlimited cameras per month. I will probably subscribe. If I am notified of movement when away from home, I want to see what it is right away and not wait till I return and plug a thumbdrive in the computer, hours or maybe days later. Hope that helps.

Q: QuestionDoes the camera mounts come with the cameras?
Asked by Blink.
- A:Answer We do ship each camera with a mount and mounting hardware screws, note the use of the included screws will create two holes in the surface.

Q: QuestionCan this camera be placed inside a window to monitor through glass?
Asked by CuriousDog.
- A:Answer The Blink Indoor cameras can not reliably detect motion on the other side of glass. Some users have placed cameras facing out a window or through a glass door to use the Live View option. A Blink Indoor camera looking through glass will react to the near side of a pane of glass, so it will not be activated by motion beyond that to create clips when in the Armed state.

Asked by Mel.
This question was asked about the related product: Blink - 2 Indoor (3rd Gen) Wireless 1080p Security System with up to two-year battery life - White
- A:Answer Blink requires a high speed 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (no satellite or hot spot) and a minimum of 2mbps upload speed per Blink device available (after the other devices in your home take their share) in order to operate normally. Blink is not compatible with 5GHz networks which is why it is not working. The Blink app will not display any SSID for 5GHz networks, only 24GHz ones. https://support.blinkforhome.com/en_US/f-a-q/system-requirements
