This fallacy that the motion detection does not work thru glass is driving me NUTS! I have two Blink Camera's that work just fine through glass. They are the Blink - Mini Indoor 1080p Wi-Fi Security Camera - White and they are connected thru a sync module. Photos below show how they are mounted pointing thru glass and I get alerted everytime there is motion when the system is armed. The third photo shows the resultant video on my phone and believe me the motion detection works
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Blink cameras cannot be used to face out a window. Blink’s PIR sensor cannot detect motion through glass, so a Blink indoor or Blink XT/XT2 camera positioned behind a window will not create clips when armed. However, it can be faced out a window, or through glass, for use with Live View.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It works thru glass. Though glass could reduce detection sensitivity, depending on quality n condition of window. Susceptible to motion sensing of bugs crawling on glass. Make sure to turn off indicator light and IR at night as glass refects glare to cloud image. With IR off, need external light or motion sensing lights for the outside area monitored. Outside light makes better image compared to IR imaging.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can manually view the outside through glass during the day but The motion detection does not work through the glass nor does the night vision.
