Yes, i added a cleaning liquid for my hardwood floors and it worked well. No issues at this point.

What do you mean by sanitizing? It can mopping.

No, it does not use UV light. You can, however, get the mop attachment for it and use a disinfecting cleaner with it. I have used it with the mop, and it gets our hardwood floor looking very nice with just hot water in it. I have not tried other kinds of cleaner/sanitizer, but it would work.
