Provided your sink area is already set up for a dishwasher, you won't need any other items. The online site wouldn't let me check out until I purchased the extra kit (weird, right??) & we didn't need it at all. The unopened box was returnable for money back ...was just the time involved to return. The Bosch we got had everything needed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Aside from basic tools like screwdrivers and pliers, the installation kit that you can get at Best Buy helps a lot. What is more important to notice is the type of arrangement you have in your cabinet and if you are replacing an existing unit or installing a new one for the first time. If it's replacement, like my case, then it should be pretty straight forward. Just unplug the old unit, replace the old hoses with the new one and slide the new unit in. However if you are installing one for the first time, there are a few things you need to preemptively do. Like a new water spout with dual outlets, one for the faucet and one for the dishwasher line. Also you will need a drain pipe with the extra neck for the drain tube that comes from the dishwasher. In my case the space for the dishwasher was separated from the main cabinet by a panel (where the power and water source was) and the only access I had to thread all the wiring and hoses was a narrow opening. So pretty much I had to use all the hose and electrical extensions contained in the kit which for the most worked great. However there was one issue, the hose extension and the hose adapter that connects to the dishwasher water line ends in female couplings at both ends so you will need a coupling connector that ends in male on both ends to join the water hose that comes from the faucet and the hose adaptor that plugs at the end of the flexible hose from the dishwasher. If you have open access in your cabinet, you might not have any of these issues. The washer slid in the existing opening without a hitch and to this day it's working perfectly, water softener and all. By the way!...Get the dishwasher salt and jet dry from Finish to protect your stainless steel surface inside the machine. Check the coupons and brochures that come with the machine's paperwork. I had to order the dishwasher salt and jet dry liquid from Amazon.
