There is a heating element, but it's used for heating the water, not drying the dishes. These "European" dishwashers use condensation for drying the dishes, not super high temperature like 'American" dishwashers do. There is an extra dry button/feature, but I'm not sure how that works. We haven't received our new Bosch dishwasher yet. There are websites that explain this online. Search for: things-people-say-my-bosch-dishwasher and click on the top link for a good explanation.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All of the washing cycles have automatic heated dry except for the rince only cycle. You can not deselect heated dry if you wished to save energy and let them air dry.
