No. This is a big miss. The red light shines on floor when operating. But it is not helpful for indicating dishes are clean for someone that has been gone and is unaware dishes were washed earlier by someone else.

It will turn off when it's done. You also only has 4 seconds to load something forgotten to the dishwasher to clean or it will resets. Be sure to fill it properly the first time ;)
