We have the same problem (pushing auto air after choosing a cycle that is not rinse does not set auto air). I found a workaround in the user manual: change the default setting in memory to pop the door open every time. 1. Turn On 2. Hold down Normal button and press Start. This opens the settings menu. 3. Hit Normal button to cycle through settings until you find o:00 (open no) and hit Rinse button to change to o:01 (open yes). 4. Hit Start to save settings. Now when I turn on, Auto Air is selected by default. You can also change the dumb setting that keeps the power on all night after cycle finished. It has a power off after one minute option.

It is very confusing trying to change the setting but the manual is very helpful. Therefore, I don't want to steer you wrong since I'm not sure if you have the same model as I bought. Also AUTO AIR won't work for RINSE cycle. This is for model beginning with SHP & SHX - https://media3.bosch-home.com/Documents/9001411746_D.pdf

AutoAir™ is an Option that automatically releases the door at the end of the cycle to let moisture escape and fresh air circulate for drier dishes. After you have chosen your Wash Cycle, be it Heavy, Auto, Normal and Speed60®, you would then choose your Option Cycle, such as AutoAir™ and start your Dishwasher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is an "Auto Air" button. We just push that.
