To begin a cycle, please follow these steps: 1) Press On/Off button. 2) Select desired cycle/options. 3) Press Start button and close the dishwasher door within 4 seconds. The InfoLight® will project a red solid light onto the floor (or a white light in the pocket handle on select models) to signal that a cycle is running. It turns off once the dishes are done. You have to press the power on, on the left side of the control panel

Seriously? So you load it up. Put soap in the dispenser, close it. Press the left on button. You should get single beep. Press the start - single beep. Close the door. At the bottom to the right the unit shows a red led (sucker is really quiet, so you need this....). If it's blinking try again. If it's solid red, go get a drink and watch your movie. It's working.
