800 has more folding tines. Touch controls verses buttons. More energy efficient. It is larger. It has more settings. Has eco cycle
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have the 500 series, but I will contribute this. Dishes come out dry. Open the DW immediately after cycle ends. Either leave the door down or put a towel in to keep the door open. If you leave the door closed, they will be wet. Third rack is great. In this model, the third rack has low sides, and cannot take high items. Great for wooden spoons. and other flattish items. One of the best uses of the third rack is pizza pans, and similar items. Large flat items fit in third rack, and came out spotless, without wasting a lot of space in the main racks. The next higher priced model had higher sides on the third rack, and can fit taller items in it. Also, this model has an adjustable second rack. Needs rinse aid to dry. The tall tub is much harder for installers or repairman to work on. Almost no space underneath. This is not the tall tub. Recommend this DW.
