Does this dishwasher require soft water only null

Hi there, thank you for your question. The dishwasher does not require soft water, but it does have a water softener included. Once your dishwasher arrives, you will find a kit inside to check the hardness level of your water. Once you determine the hardness of your water, refer to the manual to understand how to set the dishwasher water softener to get the best results. If your already have a house water softener system, then you do not need to use the water softener in the dishwasher.

No. But all dishwashers last longer and clean better with softer water to avoid mineral build up. If you have hard water and you don't have a water softener in your house then you can buy a dishwasher with a built in water softener. Those models have a chamber to put special salt in that softens water.

The dishwasher has a water softener in it, if your water is hard per the test strip you would add dishwasher salt in the container.
