Yes, they do. I don't know where the odor comes from. I thought it might've been just because it was a new dishwasher, but now that we have had it for about 2 months, the odor is still there.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My first one of this exact model not only smelled when I opened the door but smelled up the entire kitchen when the dishwasher was in the drying cycle. The smell dissipates in the room quickly when the cycle is done but while it’s in drying mode it literally makes me nauseous. The first unit started leaking within a couple of weeks of owning it so the store I purchased it from replaced with with another unit. Same issue with the smell. It doesn’t happen when I use Sanitize instead of Crystal Dry. There is no smell during the dry cycle or when I open the dishwasher at the end. So I’ve just compromised and leave Crystal Dry off. But if I knew this originally I would have gone with a 300 or 500 series w/o the Crystal Dry feature that I’m not able to use. If you plan to buy one of these make sure your store offers exchange privileges if the Crystal Dry smell during the drying cycle makes you nauseous. Or just save a few $$ and get one w/o Crystal Dry.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a water softener, reduce the amount of detergent. If you use tabs, cut them in half or go back to powder. If not try a different brand of detergent. If you're using RInse Aid try not using it for a while, if you're not, then start using it. Any of these suggestions might reduce the odor you're experiencing. It's not the dry feature itself. As other said, it's could moisture evaporating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine doesn't. Love the crystal dry feature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Smells like clean dishes. Actually, smells like steam. Nothing chemical. From their literature, I get the impression the CrystalDry material is basically a bunch of rocks of some sort. They don't disolve and don't need replacing, so they don't have an odor.
