• A:Answer Thanks for the questions! The maximum power consumption of these speakers is 14.4 watts. This specification, however, is not a measurement of the product’s performance, and we strongly encourage you to listen to them for yourself. To get the best experience from these speakers it is recommended that you are sitting in front of them, where they are connected to a computer. They should easily fill up a medium size (15X15) room.

Q: Questionwill this speaker system connect to my cell phone for music i have downloaded?will this bose speaker system work or connect to my cell phone so i can listen to the music i have downloaded and can you insert cd's for listening? thanks p.s U can see i know nothing about stero and computer and cell phone stuff..help...

• A:Answer it depends on what kind of cellphone you are using. if you are using an iPhone or Nokia or any phone that has a 3.5mm round minijack for your earphones, you can use these speakers on them. I've attached a picture of iPhone showing the 3.5mm jack. if you are using a Motorola phone that has sort of a flat connection for the earphones, you won't be able to plug these speakers in. these speakers are only just speaker units, you can't insert CD's in them anywhere. FYI, these are real good speakers, bass is perfect (at least to me it is), clear sound, and can get really loud for partying. I have them for three years now, still good as new, and I'm still loving them!

Q: QuestionIs it possible to connect a sub woofer to these?

• A:Answer I was cheated by this answer. There is ABSOLUTE ways to add a sub woofer so easily. I bought the SVS sb-1000 pro + bookshelf speakers, however I realized that the sub woofer has both input and output ports. So basically I connect my PC to the sub woofer, then connect sub woofer output to the Companion 2, PROBLEM SOLVED!!! It works PERFECTLY.

Q: QuestionWill I be able to connect these speakers to my laptop?

• A:Answer Thank you for your question! The Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers are designed to be use with any home computer system. The only requirement would be an audio output (or a headphone output). You would connect a single stereo 1/8th inch cable from the line output or headphone output on your laptop to a pair of red/white plugs on the back of the Companion 2 Series II speakers (the cable comes in the box with the speakers).

Q: QuestionWill this connect to my LCD TV? If so, can I get cables to extend their range across a 10' room?I'm seeking some satellite speakers in my exercise room so I can put on a movie and hear the audio above the noise of the treadmill.

• A:Answer Yes , but you have to have a AUDIO out first . I am using these speakers with LED LCD, as i have IP TV receiver and getting AUDIO out into an LCD driving device (my LCD donot have a TV tuner). From there , i have connected these speakers and really enjoying good sound. A cable having Red and White Audio out and a female 3.5 mm jack would be great as these speakers have a male 3.5 mm connector. These work well with any 3.5 mm jack.

• A:Answer These speakers are neither designed nor reccomended for outdoor use. They are not weather resistant, nor are they powerful enough to perform well in outdoor environments. For outdoor use we would generally recommend our 151 or 251 model speakers. (please note these outdoor models will need to be connected to an amplifier or receiver)

• A:Answer Thanks for your question. Yes, you can certainly connect an iPod to these speakers. The Companion 2 Series II system has two audio inputs (two pairs of RCA connections) so you can actually connect two different devices to them at a time, such as a computer and an iPod. This allows you to easily use two sources on the system either simultaneously or separately.

• A:Answer The cable that connects the Companion 20 speakers to the computer is a standard 3.5mm AUX cable. This is a common cable and can be extended using a 3.5mm female to male extension. The hard wired cord on the left speaker that connects it to the right is considered a proprietary connector. We unfortunately do not make an extension for it. We hope that clarifies it for you. Q: QuestionHow do I replace the left speaker connector?I dropped my speakers the other day and the proprietary connector that connects the left speaker to the right broke. How do I order a new connector/adapter? I know that it is hard wired into the speaker, but I am electronically inclined and I just need a replacement for the adapter for the side that goes into the right speaker.
