They aren’t able to play music.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The short answer is no as they already play music. However I understand that you are actually asking whether they will give you the option of being able to play other music than the music that comes with the app. The answer to this I would predict as being another NO. This is predicated by the sheer size of the buds. They are designed to sit INSIDE of the ear canal not just at the entrance. Because of this fact there is a finite amount of space to squeeze in the speaker and more importantly the battery. To make the sleepbuds large enough fulfill your question would require: 1. A larger speaker to give better quality sound and higher volumes, especially in the bass area. . and 2. A larger battery to run the larger components and the more complicated circuitry required to give a higher volume and sound quality. These 2 items listed above would make the sleepbuds just the same as other models Bose already makes but more importantly they would defeat the purpose for which they were designed - TO FIT INSIDE THE EAR CANAL SO THAT YOU CAN SLEEP AND LIE ON YOUR SIDE AND NOT FEEL DISCOMFORT IN YOUR EARS. The Bose wireless earphones below would do what you want but I can't imagine sleeping with them stuck in your ears - uncomfortable and would probably come out as well. Battery life could be problematic as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, Krys. Thank you for your question. In order to achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping, we made the conscious decision to not stream audio to the sleepbuds. Instead, we store the sound files on each of the sleepbuds and play them back locally, dramatically extending battery life. At this time, we haven't announced any plans for a new version of the Noise-masking sleepbuds. We truly appreciate your interest in this type of feature, and we invite you to join our Community to stay updated on the latest news: https://bose.life/2PcXfxa. Have a great day!
