They will block out noise when not connected to anything and they do work on a computer and most anything else you can plug them into.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well if your son is sensitive to loud sound this will be best for him. The cables are disconnect-able and the way the noise canceling works is it'll match the frequency of the outside sound and send out the same frequency sound. So it'll nullify about 75% of the sound. For this model you put the battery inside the headset so you can have the noise canceling on where ever you are without having to connect to a device, just carry around spare battery if you will be doing this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Kalebsmom. The headphones are not designed for hearing protection or medical use, but they will cancel noise even if they are not connected to a device. They will also work with both a laptop and a desktop computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes to both. They greatly reduce background noise when not connected to any device and they will work with any device that has a standard headphone jack.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had sensory processing issues due to a TBI and got my first pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones over 10 years ago. They helped me immensely with overstimulation from external sound. Add to that they lasted this entire time and were still working great until a few weeks ago when one of the foam headphone cushions fell off. If you are using these for a disability and not simply acoustical sound, I simply wouldn't trust anyone but Bose.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have used them with my iPhone for conference calls (there is a built-in mic), my iPad to watch videos and my computer (windows) for work. The really work great. I listen to a lot of audio books have never been able to use headphones while I mow the lawn (ride on mower) - with these earphones I can hear the book easily and don't need to blast the volume in my ears! They work without the wire to cancel out loud noises and a/c noise, but you can still hear people talk to you if you don't have music playing through them. I have the apple version of the headphones - they still work on my windows devices but the inline volume control doesn't work with windows so I need to adjust the volume on screen. If you will be mostly using with windows products you should purchase the windows version of the headphones. Hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes they do cancel out noise without being hooked to a device, my son uses them when he is on the plane just so he can sleep says he can't hear anything and yes they do work on a laptop. I have never tried them on a desktop so I am no help there
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1. Yes, they'll cancel out noise without being hooked to any device. He won't be listening to any music though. 2. They work with computers perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cord for the Bose QC 25 fits in the headphone jack on both my Macbook laptop and iMac desktop. I feel this headphone cancels-out loud noises very well. My pair blocked out engine noise during air travel. The cord separates from the headphones for use as "noise cancelling" only. Personally, I would not use the headphone in "noise cancelling" mode while out in the world because I feel I would not be able to hear what is happening in my surroundings.
