• I have not noticed that difference, but I can tell you it’s better as just a speaker for music. I linked the speaker with my tv for movies and the sound is great, but it does not replace a sound bar for better more surround sound.

• If your battery is at 100% and you plug it in the wall there will not be a significant increase in volume. The only time I noticed a significant difference in volume is when I use a wire instead of Bluetooth.
