QuestionDoes the soundbar with with wired speakers?

- Answer The soundbar 500 is just the soundbar, no additional speakers. The sound is quite impressive, but getting Alexa to work well may take a few calls to the Bose call center, which is excellent BTW. I also purchased the woofer, but have not purchased the surround speakers. Overall I am happy so far. If you buy make sure to download the app as that is how you set up the speaker.

QuestionHave a ~400sq ft room with 10ft opening for traffic. I'm looking for something that will amplify my movie(55" TV) and music experience to the max. I've always been interested in Bose but skeptical as to which size would fit my room.

- Answer I think this would fit your room fine, but I have had such an issue with this product not working with the HDMI cable that I think you wouldn't be happy with it. I'm not. It only worked with the HDMI cable for 2 days. Support was no help. I suggest something different

- Answer The Soundbar 700 comes with a universal remote control and glass top. The 700 also has additional drivers. You can purchase the universal remote as an extra if you decide to purchase the Soundbar 500.

QuestionI have tried all the test but the Sound Bar 500 that I just purchased will not show on the app or in my wi-fi. I have the updated software on my I-phone and have tried using a the latest version I-phone but still the app will not recognize the sound bar.

- Answer Make sure you down loaded the correct app Bose Music, open an account (free), select your Bose product and turn on the Wi-Fi discovery mode the Bose app and product then pair them.

- Answer The Soundbar 500's included remote uses IR, meaning a direct line of sight is recommended to enable the signals to be sent/received successfully. The optional Universal Remote, which is sold separately, however, uses Bluetooth. This remote does not require a direct line of sight to operate successfully.

QuestionDo the side speakers fire directly to the side of the soundbar or are they angled forward? Due to my set up I must put the bar on an enclosed shelf below the tv and don't want the sound to bounce inside the cabinet instead of into the room itself. Thanks!

QuestionMy Soundbar 500 produces increased volume from my TV, however, the treble, bass and centre functions don't work. There's no visual indication of the volume level. This morning there is no sound at all from the TV. Any way this can be fixed?

- Answer Re the Bose reply. We did contact tech support. They said our new Smsung used a different language. We took it back to the shop. They said we should use an optical cable but we had HDMI ARC connection as recommendation?!? He said it was odd the tech support mentioned language. If we need an optical cable why wasn't it supplied? Overall, a very bad customer service with different advice from the shop and tech support

- Answer We have our Bose 500 connected to a non smart tv and it works great! The 700 is a “better” sound bar but we love our 500 and think the sound is incredible. Sprang for the bass module as well and the immersive sound is exactly what we were looking for. Keeps the dialogue up as well for movies and regulates the sound in those well. The bar can work without having the tv on, through the app, so you can play your music or podcasts without having the screen on. Pretty great!
