“I guess I don't understand why this cradle is needed. I bought and love the revolve+ speaker and it is fantastic. I generally charge it when it gets low and I don't have battery issues. What would the cradle do that I can't do right now with only speaker?”

The cradle allows you to charge the speaker while using the aux cord. It also provides continuous power.

The charging cradle is not required, and provides the same charging capabilities as connecting the speaker with a USB cable. However, the benefit of the cradle is added convenience. For example; I have a charging cradle at home, and another at work at my desk. Since I bring my SoundLink Revolve speaker to and from work everyday, the cradle makes it extremely easy to grab the speaker and go, and know that the speaker is always charged and ready to go. I don't need to worry about USB cables falling behind my desk or pulling a charging cable out of my bag every day. Depending on how you plan on using the speaker, this may not sound necessary for you. But for many, this is a very nice convenience to have. We hope this helps! Thank you - Brian

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Its basically a convenience issue U can keep it on the cradle for continuous charging while being used and/or take it with u and return it to the cradle to recharge without dealing with plugging in a chord if u keep the cradle plugged in.

I just set it on the base and play music all day without worrying about the battery life. I think the speaker sounds better on the base but maybe that’s just me.
