Q: Questionis the bose sa5 compatible to bose lifestyle v35. second question I have 4 ceiling speakers and I want to connect to my bose v35 system. what kind of amp should I buy?

• A:Answer The Lifestyle V35 system would only connect with a SA-3 amplifier. It would have to be hardwired to that amp though. The SA5 uses the SoundTouch network to play music to multiple SoundTouch devices at the same time using the SoundTouch application. You could connect a SoundTouch Wireless Link Adapter to the Lifestyle V35 to make it SoundTouch enabled. This would only allow you to play music to the Lifestyle and SA5 at the same time from the application. You wouldn't be able to play a source that is attached to the Lifestyle V35 through the SA5.

Q: QuestionI’m considering purchasing a bose SA-5 to run an acoustimass 5 series 2 set, possibly 2 subs. Would this amplifier satisfy the demand of all the speakers? If not, what do you suggest to use for this application? I’ll be using this in a new 2400 sf shop.

• A:Answer It would be fine since your Acoustimas needs just power. Sub takes care of the frequency range. The SA-5 amplifier has three aux inputs so you can connect non-streaming sources, like a CD player. It can also run two pairs of speakers in parallel, so you can wire four speakers to the amp.

Q: QuestionWill this power 3 sets of speakers with the Niles SS-4 speaker selector. I have one pair of Bose 251's, one pair of 151's and want to add another pair of 151's.

• A:Answer Hello Chris. The speaker selector should allow you to connect all 3 to the SA-5 amp as it has a safety setting that seems to adjust impedance.

• A:Answer Hi, you would be able to hook a microphone into the Aux input, but you would most likely need a powered mixer between the amp and the microphone. Otherwise, you would have no volume control for your mic. Alternatively, you would need to use a powered mic. Have a great day!

• A:Answer I had the same question, but I called Bose and they said the only option for our SoundTouch system is using the SoundTouch SoundBar 300. The 500 & 700 will not work. also they are out of stock.
