This is the new version. I had the old one in past the remote control is bigger. This speaker(Bose TV Speaker) little longer. The solo 5 service doesn't have a HDMI(ARC). The Bose TV speaker does and also with mine it aloud me plug my subwoifer right into it. Also I thought it sound a lot better for a small room. That's what purchase it for.
