Does it take staples and paper clips? null

Staples - yes. Paperclips - no.

In the Manuel, it states that although it is safe to shred the Occasional standard staple, You should remove staples whenever possible to prolong the life of the Unit.

You can run staples though it but not paper clips. It's has been a really good shedder.

I believe it is supposed to take staples, but not paper clips. I have not tried shredding with staples, but they are listed.

Yes, it takes staples - we've only had the office-size staple not those big industrial things. Beware of paper clips. It's a great shredder. We're really happy with it.
