“I like to use this on a plane trip. How do I mount my cell phone or tablet on it? Do I put a magnetic strip on back of it? Will that interfere if I use a cell phone stand? Do I need anything else to work or can I just use this part? Dawn”

It comes with two metal plates. A small one for your phone and large one for a tablet. You attach the metal plates to your device and then stick your device to the holder which has magnets inside. It should not interfere with your phone stand unless your phone stand has a wireless charging feature that you use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, You need to put one of the 2 metallic plates that came in the package in the back of your phone (or between cell and case) so the mount's magnet can attract the metallic disc. You can re-position the disc if it is just in between the layers.

If your phone case already has a built-in magnet attachment like mine, it will work too. But sticking the metal place to the back of a phone with wireless charging feature, will interfere with that function.

Or, you can use the supplied metal plate that sticks to your mobile device and then attach it to the magnet on the face of the bracket. Took me a few minutes to figure it out. I have a metal plate I use for my magnetic car vent phone holder and the same plate will stick to this bracket. I also place the metal plate to my iPad and it holds it pretty good.

I ended up having to use a few drops of super glue on the back of my tablet to keep the metal plate on .....as it came off twice. Will not interfere with phone stand and actually if the phone stand is metal it will stick to that too instead of the little metal plates. Nothing else is needed

The magnets are very thin and my case fit right over top of the magnet. It did not interfere with my phone stand but it may depend on the type of stand that you use. (Note that the mount can be used as a phone stand as well.) Everything you need comes with the mount including detailed instructions on how to attach the magnets & how to use the mount as a phone stand.
