As I understand it, no pressure gauge - it's replaced by a countdown timer so you time your shot for 20-30 seconds. It has the Barista Pro grinder, with 30 settings as opposed to 18. But I would say the big one is - 3 second warmup time. That's better than instant coffee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Breville® BES878 Barista™ Pro has a an LCD screen, a slightly larger counter top foot print, a 2 year limited manufacturers warranty and the grind adjustment is now done via a turning knob instead of a dial as well as a few other updates.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Another difference is that the Express has a pressure guage to help you know if you have a good pressure for extraction, whereas the Pro model indicates the number of seconds for extraction. Not sure which is easier to use for determining if your grind, tamp, amount, etc are all optimal. But I'd buy the Pro again versus the Express for the better heating element and I do like the LCD display.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They both have the same single boiler and grinder. The Pro has a digital display and thermal heating. Essentially it is prettier and heats up faster. The interface on the pro is easier to use (especially if you are new). If it’s going to be your every day espresso machine like it is for us, it’s worth the small increase in price to upgrade. If this is your once and a while piece the cheaper version is adequate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it's Pro that's the difference. Actually it's the display and the bean grinder.
