You need the direct energy from a microwave to flash heat the oil and pop the corn in your microwave popcorn bag. This appliance would not be good for popping corn. Corn needs direct heat, like from a skillet, air-popper, or microwave. The heating elements in this oven are fragile and non-cleanable, so popping corn in here would likely damage your oven.
