I have this kettle more than a couple of years now. There's heavy corrosion at the bottom which can not be removed. However, upon close inspection, it seems the corrosion is underneath a layer of glass and therefore not in contact with the water. When I reach inside the kettle, the bottom is silky smooth and there is no joint around the edge. That leads me to believe the whole container is made out of glass which is a big relief.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also had rust problems with a Cuisinart tea kettle less than a week after purchasing it. So, I returned it. Then I purchased this Breville temp select tea kettle as it had good reviews (no mention of rust issues) and the rubber/plastic seal inside the tea kettle is BPA free. I've had it for a couple months and I haven't had any issues with rust. I do make sure I empty any leftover water at the end of the day. As some other reviews have stated - it beeps quite a bit for various reasons (on/off. etc). But, it really isn't terribly annoying because I think it is a great tea kettle.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've been using my Breville kettle at least daily for almost a year, with no signs of rust or discoloration.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Be sure to descale the kettle regularly to remove hard water deposits which over time may turn a darker color but are easily resolved with descaling as part of proper maintenance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have had this for a month now and no rust. We use it every weekend to make hot water for our french press coffee. Additionally we make sure that the water is emptied out every time too. We have left water in it over the week and still no rust. You will love it.
