Does the printer do pictures ? null

Yes, MFC-J5845DW can print pictures from the Paper Tray and the Multi-Purpose Tray. The sizes are Photo (3.5" x 5"), Photo (4" x 6"), Photo (5" x 7").

Not tried on photo paper, but it does pics well on plain paper. My wife made several small posters for a birthday party that turned out great.

Yes, I printed out one on regular paper, but can also use 'shiny' paper. I guess that means photo paper.
