Yes it can send and receive FAXes when properly setup and hooked to a landline telephone. This is an inkjet type printer which uses 1 black and 3 color cartridges and prints in color, where a laser printer uses one black toner cartridge for only black printing. There are color laser printers that also can print in color but I think are quite expensive to print with since they use one black toner cartridge and 3 color toner cartridges which are expensive to purchase. The Brother MFC 995 should be a good economical color printer because of the size of the cartridges per dollar. Although the most economical printer is the laser Black and White printer with its large toner cartridge. One drawback of the laser toner type printer is it has a drum that gets eventually used up after 2000 to 3000 pages of print needs to be replaced and is quite expensive. This varies among brands and should be researched when purchasing a laser printer. Some commercial quality printers have a drum that lasts much longer and to add to the confusion some laser printers combine a drum with the toner cartridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This printer can be programmed to send and receive faxes. This can be accomplished using the fax settings on the touch screen. This is an inkjet printer while a laser printer uses toner. Hope this helps.
