- Answer If you want to use your Brother Fax4100E to send or receive faxes on a standard analog telephone line, you must directly connect a telephone cord from the jack labeled LINE on the machine to the wall telephone jack.

QuestionI have phone service along with internet and tv from spectrum cable. I have used an older brother fax575 & it worked fine. Will this new machine work on the same line? I believe the phone service is digital.
