• A:Answer I have a similar Brother unit MFC-j480dw ( which lighting just killed) and it won't work with just black. If all you want is black take a look at Laser printers- if you don't do a lot of printing it might be the way to go

Q: QuestionHow does the dual tray work? Can I choose which tray to print from or will it always take from the top if there is something there? Also, if one color runs out, will the printer still allow you to continue printing without any certain color?

• A:Answer The Brother MFC-J1010DW is not a dual tray printer, this model only has one tray. For Brother printers that are dual trays printers, you can switch between which tray you wish to print with. The machine is designed to stop all printing operations when any of the ink cartridges are low. This is to ensure the life of the print head and maintain premium print quality. If the unit were to continue printing, print jobs and cleaning cycles would suck air from the empty cartridge and damage the print head.

Q: QuestionCan a phone connect to and print from this printer via Bluetooth? My parents don't have an Internet connection so they use their phones as a mobile hotspot, and being able to print from the phone to the printer via Bluetooth is a must.
