I'm mainly answering just to point out that the previous answer, which purports to be from Brother, is dead wrong. Both models are all-in-ones. From Brother's website: "Brother Wireless MFC-L2820DW Compact Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer with Copy, Scan and Fax, Duplex and Mobile Printing, Refresh Subscription Ready." That said, I am trying to compare the two myself, and I noticed that the 2900 has a larger touchscreen control panel and prints slightly faster. Other differences weren't readily apparent, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Brother MFCL2900DW offers Duplex copying, printing, faxing, and scanning, while the MFCL2820DW only offers Duplex printing.
