The Brother SDXEGY and the Brother DX machine has the same function. The only difference is the Brother SDXEGY comes with 3 Pattern Collection cards.

The letters Brother uses such as "e", "i", "egy", "D" either denote which type of accessories or kits your machine is bundled with or if it has extra Disney patterns stored internally. The "DX" merely sets it apart from their earlier Scan N Cut machines which had similar features but were louder, slower, the GUI very different, different screens and button layouts, only cut up to 2mm deep, didn't have Auto Blade technology, had lower resolution scanners.
