It’s based on 5% usage on a page. So if you are printing slot in bold lettering or alit of images in black you will use it up quicker. You might want to take your cartridge out and give it a few shake to distribute the toner evenly.

I was told by them that its just a reminder to put in another order & it should last long after the low toner message comes up. Mind did so it all worked out.
