Hi there, While the air frying mode does not use microwave energy, we wouldn't recommend using foil as a way to capture any drippings. Please try again later.The air fry festure on this oven works in combination with microwave and air fry so like all microwaves, you can include tin foil or metal but have to be sure NOT to have it touch the walls or door and it should weigh considerably less than the food you are cooking to avoid arcing
