Hi Mary. On the touch pad on the bottom row on the right you will see Surface Light. Press this once and this will turn on light. Press again and the light will go to lower brightness. Finally press again and the light will go out.

We are happy to let you know that this microwave does have a light on the bottom to illuminate the cooktop, which is activated through the "Surface Lights" button on the control panel. You can even connect it with your Cafe Range to automatically switch on your vent fan and lights when cooking through the Chef Connect feature.
