Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Dave, All current OTR (over-the-range microwaves), including convection, Advantium ovens, vent hoods, and telescopic downdraft vents can be installed over gas cooking products with combined surface burner BTU rating of approximately 65,000 BTUs or less. As long as the 66" minimum clearance from the floor to the top of the microwave is followed there will be no performance or warranty problem. These products are not recommended for use above any range or cooktop that has a combined surface burner BTU rating over 65,000 BTUs. Combined surface burner rating does not include the oven/broiler BTUs. ***Exception: If the cooking product is over 65,000 BTUs but does not specify that a high performance (high CFM) hood needs to be installed, then you can proceed with the vent of your choice. Of course, when in doubt, we would recommend that you check with your local codes to confirm if your range does need a vent hood installed above it. We hope that this helped! Thank you very much for your question. -Michael
