  • QuestionJust had this range installed and it won’t stop clicking while the oven is on. It’s very loud and frequent, I can hear it in another room. Very annoying. Is this fixable or did I make a $4,000 mistake?

You may hear your oven's heating elements "click" on and off more frequently than in older ovens to achieve better results during baking, broiling, and self-clean cycles.   • QuestionThe stove site says Self Cleaning. Tell me more please..i.e. using high heat? I purchased a self cleaning oven and it is useless since it just uses hot water...no hi heat.

    • Answer Hi - Thanks for considering Café Model C2S950P4MW2! We are sorry to hear you are not satisfied with your current range. This range has both Self-Clean and Steam Clean options so you can choose how you want to clean your oven. The Self-Clean option is cleaned by heat, at temperatures above normal cooking temperatures. During the cleaning cycle the oven is heated to about 880 degrees Fahrenheit (471° C.) and can be set between 3-5 hours. Steam Clean allows for quick cleaning of minor food spills at temperatures lower than the standard self-clean feature. Simply pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a cool oven. Close the door and select Steam Clean. This cycle lasts 30 minutes.   • QuestionIt says this model, the Duel Fuel model, doesn’t come with the required 240 power cord. What is the model number/sku for this part and how can it be purchased?

    • Answer All ranges require separate purchase of power cord to accommodate local standards. They’re very standard & you can pick them up nearly anywhere. A word of warning about GE!!!! GE was bought by Haier ( Chinese company) and it has been nearly impossible to find parts for this line of products. I.e. refrigerator ice maker, hood vent cover, I love these appliances, but will leave them in the house when we sell, as servicing them looks to be impossible going forward. I will not buy GE appliances in the future.

  • QuestionDoes the oven have automatic convection conversion?

    • Answer Hello- Thank you for your interest. This is an excellent model and we are glad to help! Yes, this model does have Auto Recipe Conversion. It will automatically convert the regular baking temperatures entered to convection bake cooking temperatures when turned on. Note that this option does not convert convection bake cooking times, it only converts temperatures. This feature may be turned On or Off. Select Settings, Auto Conversion is 5th option and shows up on first display of settings, and Auto Conversion then follow the prompts to turn this feature on or off.   • QuestionI currently have a GE cafe stainless that has had so many burner issues. Has GE fixed the issue? Also, my stainless scratches so badly. Is the matte black more hardy for scratches? Or the updated design with full grate protect from scratches better?

    • Answer Hi there, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear about the burner and finish issues you've had with your range. We can certainly understand the frustration. Whenever we receive feedback regarding a concern about one of our products it’s shared with and reviewed by our product team. Given that fact, we don’t expect you to experience any issues with our appliances. We also provide a warranty should an unusual situation occur. - Also, our Matte finishes are a highly engineered paint on metal (steel). We recommend that the interior and exterior Matte finish surfaces be treated similar to high-end coatings on automobiles. The Matte White and Matte Black finishes are not engineered for use with soap-filled scouring pads, abrasive cleaners any cleaning product containing chlorine bleach and/or abrasive cloths and paper towels. Use of these types of products may scratch and/or dull the Matte White and Matte Black finish. - In order to avoid scratching or damaging finish surfaces, they should be cleaned with a soft, clean cloth or microfiber cloth, warm water, and a mild soap or detergent solution. The appliance finish surface should then be wiped dry with a soft, clean cloth or microfiber towel to avoid streaking or water spotting. We do hope this is helpful! All the best. -Michael@Cafe

  • QuestionHi! Does the second oven fit a turkey?

    • Answer Hey there, this is a really good question. For a 30" double oven range, the lower oven will hold a turkey that's about 20 pounds. The turkeys we test are normally in the 20 to 25 pound range and in those cases we use the lower oven of the double oven models. We do not have any information on turkey sizes for the upper oven nor do we recommend cooking whole turkeys/chickens/hams in the upper oven. Thanks so much for considering Café! -Mikayla@Cafe

    • Answer You may need different gas fittings, it is fitted for natural gas, not propane regardless of what/where your source Is. Hope that is helpful.

    • Answer Hi Jill, Excellent question! We would recommend using a single phase, 120/208 VAC or 120/240 VAC, 60 Hertz electrical system and that this electrical wiring be done by a professional electrician. You will need an individual, properly grounded, 30 amp (minimum) branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. We hope that this helps!
