Where do I find a replacement carbon filter? null

Yes, I received the same response from Cafe when calling them yesterday. They did agree to send me one carbon filter free. Although the item shows out of stock on the website, they actually do have a large supply of on hand. You just can't purchase them. Further, the price they want to charge for the replacement carbon filter is $5 each which is really excessive. On other coffee pots I've owned, specifically Cuisinart, the brand name carbon filters are more like $7-8 for a 12 pack with free 2-day delivery through Amazon. This was quite disappointing to discover. Problem is, the filters for this coffee maker are not a standard size. I certainly hope they resolve this issue. Other than that, the coffee pot is amazing! It brews the best coffee!

The only place to get a carbon replacement filter is through the GE website? It shows out of stock....YIKES!!! How the heck are we supposed to maintain our unit if we can't get our hands on a replacement filter. Please do advise!

If you’re making your coffee with filtered water you don’t actually need to use or pay for the additional carbon activated filter. They do add up to $30 per year if replaced every 2 months as suggested. The filters are about the taste of the coffee though, not maintaining the unit. Descaling removes mineral build up while the carbon removes some organic compounds since it’s a porous material that they can get stuck in. This happens best when the water being treated isn’t moving through the filtering material too quickly though, so it’s something but not hugely effective. Carbon filtration is the cheapest form of water treatment, so chances are that whatever water filtration system you already have, uses it at least as a component if not largely.

I'm really disappointed in this coffee maker. I've had it since Christmas. I have the same charcoal filter because they're simply not available. This morning I set it for a 10 cup brew and the coffee was cold. For the price I paid for this premium coffee maker I could have gotten better. It looks good but filter supply sucks. Wished I had known before my purchase. On the bright side I can always use the carafe for a different coffee maker.
