#4 cone style paper filters come with. Tried two different permanent filters from previous units. Neither seated properly to allow the filter holder to close.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am uncertain of the exact measurements but I use the Melitta Natural Brown #4 Coffee Filter. This fits snuggly top to bottom to cover all surfaces of the coffee filter holder.
