“I have a Canon MP250 printer and will a generic CL211XL and PG210XL ink cartridge work in this printer or does it have to be a Canon ink cartridge?”

It depends I have tried generic ink cartridge and it didn't fit. It depends who you are buying this product from. It's just a pain in the butt so I went with the name brand.

Again, the box for the cartridges tells you what machines the cartridges are intended for. If that fails, ask the sales reps.
