Your printer should use both black 250 and 251. The 250 is basically for black and white printing and the black 251 mixes with the color 251's for color printing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The regular 250 PGBK ink is 15 ml. The 250 PGBK XL is 22ml. the 251 BK is 7 ml. The PGBK ink is pigment based ink for text type applications. The BK in is dye based ink for photographic applications. I don't have any of the 251 BKXL cartridges so I can't tell you how much ink is in them. Supposedly they print twice as many pages as the BK version.
