The huge card will not help you with longer recording times. The camera is limited to 30 min max video recording time.

I explained that I was looking for at least an hour of recording to capture live events and for speaking engagements. I was assured that this is definitely the camera I need. Even when the "supervisor" came over to assist after the alarm went off as the salesman attempted to pull it from the display to demonstrate... I was reassured by the "more knowledgable supervisor" that this camera would be exactly what I need and at a great quality too. Almost $1,000 later with additional accessories: microphone, tripod, memory cards that I was assured would be what I needed, only to find out the video is limited to 30 minutes. What a bummer, returning it required a restocking fee that did not make it worth it. Foiled again due to relying on Best Buy sales staff "expertise." Buyer Beware, I will definitely search the Q & As BEFORE trusting that sales staff know what they are selling on the floor.
