- Answer Yes, absolutely! I use this camera primarily for video (I’m a YouTuber), and it is fantastic. I shoot fhd @ 24fps. One caution: if you plan to shoot in 4K, prepare to manual focus. 4K from this camera is good, but you loose that wonderful Canon dual autofocus, as it reverts back to a contrast-based autofocus, which I find to be somewhat unreliable (slow and wanders). In all other resolutions, AF is spot-on.

- Answer The huge card will not help you with longer recording times. The camera is limited to 30 min max video recording time.

- Answer While it does have a built in flash, it is not automatic. You simly pull it up when you want to use it. I prefer this over automatic. More control that way.

- Answer I have used it for night time shots but I have found that I get better results using a tripod (which is true for almost any camera) but even handheld it works very well. The M50 has several special modes, filters & settings specifically for night shooting. I'd recommend testing a few of those features to see which ones work better for what you want to do. If you have a tripod set the camera to its lowest f-stop number in my case I believe it is f-2.5 (which opens the aperture to its widest setting, this setting varies depending on the lens you are using) and switching to manual focus mode & a long shutter release for sharp images of the sky at night. However, there is a scene mode specifically for taking handheld shots at night which works really well too. Also keep in mind when using aperture priority a lower f-stop number shortens your field of focus but allows in more light while the largest f-stop number gives you the widest field of focus but allows in less light. Getting familiar with these settings will help you to get the best results for what you are trying to shoot be it a sharp portrait or a wide landscape, or in this case a night sky with lots of stars visible.

- Answer No. The camera itself has the ability to use all EF-M lenses. You would need an adapter for any EF-S or EF lenses for the Canon M50!

QuestionI am getting this camera for Christmas when the sales include bundles. I am very excited about graduating from a small point and shoot Canon. Which lenses are compatible with the M50? I am by no means a photographer so advice welcomed.

- Answer I got mine bundled with a 15 - 45mm lens which is great for a start. If you want to keep it very small, the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens is an excellent addition. The large aperture improves the camera's low light performance. Unlike the 15 - 45mm it does not have vibration reduction so be sure to watch your shutter speeds. There are lots of online reviews from photographers far more capable than me that can offer you more advice. Of course the Canon website can also clarify which lenses fit without an adapter. The designation is EF-M for their mirrorless camera lenses. If you add the adapter, it opens up a huge number of options from the entire Canon lens family.

- Answer This Camera was released about 3 years ago. Now in 2020, it is still a best buy (No Pun intended) at a great price. This is an entry level cam, Great for beginners. If your are looking to get into photography or videography this is a great selection. This Cam is also great for Vlogging. If you decide to grab this camera and are looking to get some lenses to go with it, I recommend looking into the Sigma 16mm, Sigma 30mm & Sigma 56mm. Side Note; Canon is releasing a New M50 by early 2021, the M50 Mark II.

- Answer Bluetooth works better! Down load the canon app and it will tell step by step how to set it up. There is a Wi-Fi connection button on the side of the camera it will set up aromatically after you go through the app.

- Answer slide towards the back of the camera (above the EVF) the upper most piece of black plastic (on top of the built-in flash). Once off it reveals the hot shoe below.

- Answer Yes. You have the option of several different EF-M lenses or you can get the Canon EF adapter and use standard EF and EF-S lenses on the camera. You can also get an attachment known as a speedbooster which will allow you to use different EF lenses as well.

- Answer I think the reason it’s rated low isn’t due to its picture quality but specifically because this camera can record in 4K however the focus is really bad when recording in 4K mode. In 1080p however it does much better, but it’s as if Canon is trying to pass it off as a 4K capable device when it really isn’t.
