A:Answer The SL1 only can shoot 4 frames per second which is somewhat introductory for a DSLR. You can use it for sports, BUT you will only be able to get one or two shots off before the subsequent shots will be blurry. I have used mine for my child's soccer game, and if you time it right, you can get some good photo's. However, if you want more than that, this camera falls short. The Canon T5i is not much better at 5 frames per second and you will have the same problem at that price point. If you want to take a lot of burst photo's, the Canon 7D Mark II was specifically designed for that with dual digic-6 processors at 10 frames per second.
Overall the SL1 is great camera and it's small form factor make it a perfect choice for something that you can take to events without being in the way. I use mine for everything from quick portraits, to child's soccer games, to everyday activities. I have never regretted purchasing this camera and it's very fun to use once you know what it's limits are.
