“About how many pages can be printed from one black ink refill? I would like to estimate what the cost will be to print a lot of pages, black ink only, before I purchase a printer and ink.”

I use the same bottle of ink to refill my PGI-250xl cartridges and I print hundreds of text heavy document each month and the bottle lasts me several months, so at least 3 or 4 boxes of paper with 3 reams per box. its great looking text even printed in standard quality.

Please try again later.According to the Canon web site; Page yield varies significantly depending on content printed, ink levels maintained in all four reservoirs, and other factors. Up to 6,000 (black)/7,700 (color) printed page yields are approximate using 'default printing mode', up to 8,300 (black)/7,700 (color) printed page yields are approximate using 'economy printing mode' via Windows/Mac OS driver or printer copy setting, based off document pages printed. A full set of MegaTank GI-20 ink bottles (pigment black, cyan, magenta, yellow) is equivalent to 30 standard capacity ink cartridge sets (PG-245 Black Ink Cartridge and CL-246 Color Ink Cartridges ? cyan, magenta, yellow) based on print yield. Ink value savings based on MSRP (USD) of stated equivalent ink cartridge sets as of April 2019.
