• I made the same mistake when I first got the phone. I accidentally got the case for the regular 3 XL. No space for headphone jack. Also, fits slightly off. Willing to get you just grabbed the wrong one.

• I am not in love with the case by any means. However, my Pixel 3a XL phone case does NOT cover the earphone hole so the case does not need to be removed.

• I have the case for my 3a XL and it has openings for all of the ports. Headphone, charger, even the mics and speakers. O believe you have the wrong case.

• You probably received the Pixel 3 cases when you need the Pixel 3a case. It has an open top for the head phones jack.

• The way the case is made, it doesn't need a hole for anyone to plug in their headphones. For the price point, no phone comes with a screen protector

• Well I don't know about you, but my phone has the earphone hole at the top and the case makes it very accessible, it's the same place I plug in my square reader.
