You will need a Solar Safe, ISO compliant white light solar filter. Unfortunately, Celestron does not offer a solar filter for the 130mm Newtonian Reflector optical tube. The filter must be purchased from a solar filter manufacturer.

Sun filters that go over the front of the main tube would be best and must be officially rated as safe for solar viewing. There are solar eyepiece (the small lens that you look though) filters for sale that are NOT a good idea to use, too easy to get an accidental exposure to the direct sun. It's dangerous to look at the sun directly with your naked eyes, this danger is multiplied many times over through a telescope. A very short glimpse at the sun without safe filters can cause permanent blindness. So never allow your kids to use a telescope during the day without supervision. A simple search on the web will confirm this information and there are many, usually inexpensive solar filters available.
