Yes, absolutely. A smartphone is not required to operate the Travel Scope 70mm telescope.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you do not have to use a phone for this telescope to work. The phone adaptor is simply for people who are into taking pictures with their cell phone of whatever they see through the telescope. If you are looking for a simple telescope this is an okay telescope. Meaning the only exciting thing we were able to see was the craters on the moon. We tried to see the Rings of Saturn but the telescope only allowed us to see a blurry white oblong blob. LOL We ended up investing in a better telescope a day or two later. We still kept this telescope so we could help navigate our daughter when she is using the newer telescope. Great fun, it holds up pretty well, but cheaply made and the tripod is horrible. Works out good for older kids, and would not recommend for smaller children.
