• I think you can but then it will be hard to clean. To me just boiling water so fast is great, and keeps it neat and ever ready. Tea is perfect in the cup and coffee makers eork fantastic.

• Maybe if it was a very large grind but the screen is not very fine so it would let a lot of grounds through at regular to fine grind. It's also hard to clean compared to a French Press or simple single serve pour through filter...
