It works an any TV with an HDMI connection. I have never used a Firestick but I have all of my streaming services on it and I love going to one place for everything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your Sony Smart TV should have an HDMI input, which is what the Google Chromecast TV device needs. There are plenty of videos on UTube that show how to install and customize with side loaded apps, which is what I recommend. Disney+ and HBOmax both require subscriptions but will play on the Google Chromecast TV. I use the subscription version of UTube TV for most of my content.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use this with any tv that has an hdmi port. You do not need a usb port, the chromecast comes with its own power cord and 120v to USB power adapter. I like this way more than the firestick and you can use all sorts of apps including disney+ and Hbo max.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In general, Chromecast works with most TVs, even old, non-smart ones as long as it has an HDMI input. It also needs to be plugged directly to a power outlet. Take a look at this link for the setup requirements and guide on how to setup Chromecast with Google TV and Voice Remote: https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/10109990 While Chromecast doesn't require any subscription to use, you will need to subscribe to the services of some partnering apps such as Disney+, YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Brit Box, Prime Video, and many more to stream movies and other video contents. You can take a look at the partnering apps here: https://store.google.com/us/product/gtv_apps_and_partners
