If u're talking of Conair 1875 watt folding dual voltage, there are only 3 choices ... low heat, off, & high heat. I used mine in my travel to Asia which uses 220V & it was recommended to only use low heat for 220V. Low heat was strong and has more than enough heat for drying and styling my hairs which are moderately thick and long. Also if u need 220V, switch it with a screw driver before leaving US. It isn't easy to change the voltage back & forth for safety reason. It came 110V (default) when newly opened in a package. Hope this helps ...

It is always hot however, on the back of the handle there is a button that’s says cool and when your drying your hair all you have to do is hold the button down while your drying your hair and cool air comes out.
